Health Programme

Health and Nutrition
The Health and Nutrition activities under the Somriddhi project initiative have emerged as a crucial support
system for families in Amgram Union, Rajoir Upazila,Madaripur District. With financial backing from the
Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation, the programme has successfully reached twenty households, delivering
free health and nutrition services directly to their homes. This door-to-door approach has made healthcare
more accessible for families who previously struggled to receive basic medical attention. The initiative reflects
a strong commitment to improving public health and reducing inequalities in healthcare access, especially in
rural and underserved areas.
Due to the lack of a formal Community Clinic in Amgram Union, Somriddhi has taken proactive steps to
meet local health needs. Health Officers from Gono Unnayan Prochesta provide essential medical services
through Static Clinics and conduct regular health camps via Satellite Clinics. These Satellite Clinics, held
twice a week, offer free medical prescriptions and distribute iron and calcium tablets to patients, with part
time MBBS doctors overseeing treatment. Additionally, specialist physicians attend these camps to provide
expert consultations and medications at no cost. Health Inspectors monitor the activities closely to ensure
consistent service quality. This comprehensive and community-focused approach has made Somriddhi a
vital lifeline for improving health outcomes in Amgram Union.
