12.1 Capacity Building through GUP Training Centre (GTC)
Since 1976, Gono Unnayan Prochesta has been conducting training programmes aimed at community
development. The organization’s training venue is located inRajoir Upazila of Madaripur District, adjacent to
the Dhaka-Barisal Highway. It is approximately 85 kilometers away from Dhaka. The center features beautiful
flowers and wood gardens, creating an ideal environment for hosting development activities, training
sessions, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
Under the organization’s own training initiatives, various programmes are organized to enhance the skills
of staff and members based on their needs. The center also includes a pleasant dining hall where meals and
refreshments are served to trainees, guests, and resource persons.
The training center houses two classrooms, one of which is air-conditioned and can accommodate up to 75
participants at a time. The dormitory rooms each contain two beds, providing lodging for up to 30 individuals.
Additionally, the guest rooms include six air-conditioned rooms with two beds each, accommodating 12
people, and two non-air-conditioned rooms with two beds each, allowing for four more guests. In total, the
center can host up to 16 guests, resource persons, or trainees in its guest accommodations.
