Massage from President

It is my honor to present the Annual Report of Gono Unnayan Prochesta for the period July 2024 to June 2025. This report reflects the organization’s progress in advancing inclusive socio- economic development and underscores Gono Unnayan Prochesta’s continued role as a trusted and resilient community development organization in Bangladesh.

Since it’s establishment in 1973, Gono Unnayan Prochesta has remained committed to empowering marginalized communities and promoting sustainable development. Guided by this vision, our programs have continued to expand opportunities for economic empowerment, social inclusion and human development. During the reporting year , the Microfinance Programme maintained strong growth and outreach, enabling more households to access financial services and strengthen their livelihoods.

The year also presented a number of challenges. The broader economic environment in Bangladesh placed pressure on financial sustainability, while the restructuring of staff salaries - an important step toward strengthening institutional capacity - required additional financial commitments. However, these measures were undertaken as strategic investments in the long-term resilience of the organization. By enhanceing staff capacity and mobilising resources through commercial bank financing, Gono Unnayan Prochesta was able to sustain program expansion and maintain a stable financial position.

Consistent with it’s integrated development approach, Gono Unnayan Prochesta continues to reinvest surplus income generated through the Microfinance Programme into critical sectors such as health, agriculture, education and human development. This reinvestment strengthens community resilience and ensure that development gains extend beyond financial inclusion to broader improvement in equality of life.

Looking ahead, Gono Unnayan Prochesta remains committed to strengthening its institutional capacity, promoting innovation and expanding development initiatives that respond to the evolving needs of communities. Through sustained collaboration with government institutions, development partners and local stakeholders, the organization will continue contributing to inclusive and sustainable development.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Government of Bangladesh, our valuable donors, Polli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF), commercial banks and our partner organizations for their continued support. I am also grateful to the members of the General Council and Executive Committee, as well as our senior management and dedicated staff, whose commitment and professionalism remain central to Gono Unnayan Prochesta’s achievements.

Together, we look forward to continuing our journey towards building resilient communities and a more
