It is a great pleasure to express my pronounced views regarding the Annual Report 2021-22 of Gono Unnayan Prochesta(GUP). The report presents the progress and achievements of GUP’s activities for strengthening its capacity and reinforce its services to achieve the sustainable well-being of the
poor community in its working areas. During the year 2021-22 GUP performed remarkably in the arena of socio-economic and human
development that has been illustrated in Microfinance programme throughout the year. The surplus
increased due to financial support from Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation(PKSF), Bangladesh
NGO Foundation (BNF) and Four Commercial Banks and contributed in raising fund to facilitate
Microfinance programme of GUP.
The health programme in terms of GPRC (GUP Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre) is providing
physical health services significantly, also the eye camps are playing effective role in the community
considerably. The income generating and other activities of ENRICH programme supported by PKSF
is another dimension of activities of GUP that improved the socio-economic condition in the society
of GUP’s working areas.
The stipend programme for the students has encouraged them to continue their education and the
financial help in the name of supplementary allowance provided for elderly people has strengthened
the confidence among elderly groups to meet their daily needs although it is very limited compared
to the requirements. Financial support to the beggars to return into the normal life involving in
IGAs by giving up begging is also a noble social wellbeing established by GUP. However, GUP is
also assisting in the development of the society in various aspects of activities including children
education programme.
I am personally thankful to the GUP team members for their untiring efforts throughout the period
specially in overcoming the COVID-19 situation when the field activities were interrupted partially.
The courageous commitment of the GUP team would be the great strength of the organization to
achieve the goal.
I would like to acknowledge the precious contribution and cordial cooperation of PKSF, Microcredit
Regulatory Authority (MRA), BNF, Banks, Donors and other organizations for supporting GUP
generously.
