  Nobo Jibon Program:

GUP is working in partnership with the Save the Children to implement Nobo Jibon Program funded by USAID at Mehendigonj and Hijla upazillas of Barisal district for the period of 5 years from October 2010 to February 2015.Total House hold beneficiaries of the program is 93693 community people especially poor and hardcore poor.  The major components of the program are: A. Mother and Child Health and Nutrition B. Market Based Production and Income Generation for poor and extremely poor households C. Disaster Risk Reduction for households in targeted communities.

 

Sustainable Soil Management for Food Security of Poor, Marginal and Small Farmers of Active Flood Plain and Char lands of Bangladesh (SUSFER) Project:

This is a project of SRDI-GOB funded by EC. GUP in partnership with IRRI is implementing the project aiming to improve food security of 2,000 vulnerable and marginal farmers in active floodplains and char lands through enhancing soil fertility and soil management in order to improving crop yields, diversifying crops and cropping system and improving access to nutritious food in target households of 4 unions of Madaripur sadar and Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.

  Hygiene Sanitation and Water Supply Project (HYSAWA):

The project funded by HYSAWA Fund Management Unit, has been testing water qualities of 10000 Tube-wells of nine districts i.e. Barisal, Pirojpur, Jhalokathi, Noakhali, Feni and Laxmipur, Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts by using Field Testing Kits covering 4 parameters (Arsenic, Iron, Manganese and Chloride). These Tube-wells were installed by Union Parishad with the technical assistance of GOB/HYSAWA Fund Management Unit

  Sanitation, Hygiene and Water Supply in Rural Areas of Bangladesh (SHEWAB) Project:

This project funded by UNICEF aims to improve standards of hygiene behavior on sustainable basis, and ensure adequate sanitation and safe water supply in un-served and under-served areas, particularly for the poorest people of Damuddya upazila of Shariatpur district.

  Goat rearing project for destitute poor women

Supported by Bangladesh NGO Foundation Fund, the project aims to support the hardcore poor women of Banshkhali and Anwara Upazilas of Chittagong district through providing goat rearing training to the selected women from the hard core poor and thereby undertaking the goat rearing income generation activities for alleviation of poverty.

This assistance is helping the helpless women to participate in IGA and increase their family income through developing livestock assets enabling their children to have access to protein from goat milk.

 

Boosting Soil Fertility and Agricultural Productivity for Household food security in Peat Basin Bangladesh

The project of SRDI-GOB funded by EC. GUP in partnership with IRRI is implementing the project aiming to improve food security of vulnerable and marginal farmers in Peat Basin Area of Bangladesh through enhancing soil fertility and soil management in order to improving crop yields, diversifying crops and cropping system and improving access to nutritious food in target households of 4 unions of Tungipara and Kotalipara under Gopalgonj district.
